Finally a turnaround.....

Yesterday was a wonderful day (except for the loss of my best friend's dad). My previous boss Margaret called me and asked if I wanted to come back to work there. My response was "more than anything". She will work with me while I go to back to school. Finally, something is going my way. I am SURE things in every aspect of my life will be looking up in the next few weeks.

Heat......

I absolutely hate the heat. The funny thing is that I have lived in the deep south my whole life. Mississippi to be exact. My birthday is July 3rd. I am literally a firecracker baby. I cannot stand to be hot. I become very ill when I am hot. Now, that being said, if I was sitting on a deck at the lake it would be a different story. I absolutely love the lake. I love to be on a boat with a cold drink and looking at the water. Oh, well I can always dream.

Just crappy......

The year 2009 has basically been crappy for me all the way around. Losing my job in December and then one disappointment after another. I am trying to think of good things that have happened this year. 1. The ac/dc concert 2. the trip to St Louis. I think this year can compare the the year 2004 which totally sucked in every area.

Coupons......

I have been very fortunate to have a pretty good job for a long time. I am not rich but I get pretty much anything I want. Until I lost my job in December and it took me several months to find a new job.

Due to my current financial situation (which is pretty much caught up). I have been clipping coupons. I am not one of those people that can go to the grocery store and spend 15 dollars for 100 worth of groceries. But I am now enjoying clipping the coupon for resturants such as chili's that says "5 dollars off your bill". I can take that $5 I have saved and put it toward the tip - I try to overtip when I can.

Today I went into a little boutique and had a 10% coupon off. I picked up some precious little barettes. Had I not had that coupon I would have not went into this particular boutique and it has such charming items. I was on the way to the doctor so I did not have alot of time to peruse.

I guess everyone is trying to cut back. At least I am trying to be smarter about my money.

Wonderful vacation......

I love going on weekend trips. This past weekend we went to six flags. We rented a stow and go van that was super nice. A whole group of us went. The attendees were Ronnie, Pam, Autumn, Kelcy, Robin, Brooke, Jacob, Jill, Hailey, Caleb, Makinlea and myself. We spent the entire day Saturday at six flags. My calf muscles were killing me at the end of the trip.

On Sunday we ventured to Grant's farm in the morning. I love Grant's farm so much - you begin by getting on the tram and riding around the property. There are animals that are wondering around the property. I have lots of cool pictures of the family and animals.

I had to work on Monday and Tuesday so I have pretty much slept and layed around the house. I am exhausted.

Barack Obama......

I have always been a republican. I was raised republican and have always voted for republican president's. Until now, I really do like our president. He seems to be sincere in helping this country get back on it's feet. I love looking at pictures of him in the white house that can be found on http://www.whitehouse.gov/ . I guess he just seems real. I hope he will do good things for this country. A strange observation I have made is that alot of "white republicans" I have been in contact with think that he is doing a good job. Despite partisianship, the concensus is that he is trying to do the best for our country.

Nurse educator......

I have wanted to be a nurse educator for as long as I have been a nurse. I was a LPN instructor for almost 1 year and loved it. The only reason I left the job is because the state cut the program. It was cut due to poor performance prior to my tenure.

I only need 4 classes before I can start the BSN program. I can teach RN's while I am in the Master's program, post BSN.

I have been a nurse for so long I think it is time to do what I really love - teach. I do not want to perform direct patient care for my whole life. Now if I can keep the motivation for this.
