Fabulous book review....

I really am not a person that likes to read novels. I get bored half way through or I just can not get into the particular novels. I like to read books that have shiny pages gracing the cover. The book The Ellements of Personal style is a great new find. It follows 25 fashion icons on how to dress, shop and live. Between the pages of the glossy book it reveals these fashion icons closets. It gives us a little glympse into the life of women who love fashion. The women come from different backgrounds and different styles of fashion.

I would love to pick a favorite person out of this book but I won't be able to do that. I love, love, love each one of these women. It features women from Candace Bushnell to Dita Von Teese. Rockers like Fergie and soul singer Alicia Keys. I would rush out right now and but this book.

Women and wienies....

The dachsund is a short-legged long bodied dog breed of the hound family. The dachsund is originally of german decent. They were breed to flush out badgers from underground. Dashsunds are playful but can be stubborn (they are german).

Sexy women are attracted to daschunds because of thier demeanor. Sexy, confident women like daschunds due to the are very playful but then we can be viscous. Let someone or (somedog) attack something that we love and the teeth come out and the game is on. Dacshund lovers are very loyal. We are loyal to our friends and family.

Carol Lombard, a very sexy actress that was married to Clark Gable had a daschund named Commissioner. Very sexy and masculine men John Wayne and Marlon Brando were proud owners of dachshunds.

Dita Von Teese, burlesque queen, loves her doxies. She is pictured in her bathing suit with her doxies.

Brigit Bardot, an extremely sexy woman, was a dachshund lover as well.

Joann's fabric.....

I love Joann's fabric. Now, let me clarify that I am NOT a person who sews. I do not knit. I do not crochet. I am very fortunate that I have a mother in law that sews like a dream. Now, I like to decorate. They have really cute home items there. Most of the time I like to pick up the "holiday theme" items on sale. Today I picked up a very nice basket that was regularly $60 and I got it on sale for $23. I am planning on turning it into a basket for our guest room. I want to put some comfy towels, wash cloths, snacks, lotions and different goddies in it. I'm looking forward to redoing my guest room. I want it all comfy for when especially my grandson comes to visit....

A whole new direction....

Due to recent physical injury and a need for a new career in my life. I quit my job at Fresenius. I have been a dialysis nurse for a very long time. It has been a challenge but I have grown to love the staff and patients alike. I have decided to try a new approach. I am going to go back to college and get at least my BSN if not my masters. A master's degree will enable me to have more choices at my career. I was an LPN instructor in the past and truly loved it. This could open up a new life for me. I also am looking at the private sector to see if there are any opportunities there. I am very lucky to have a supportive family.

"Life is too short to sleep on low thread-count sheets" Leah Stussey

There is nothing more fabulous than sleeping in a comfortable bed. I purchased a pillowtop Englander a couple of years ago and it sleeps like a dream. We have been sleeping on some sheets I purchased on QVC a few years ago. They were so soft we felt as though we were sleeping on clouds every night. But, then tragedy ensued they ripped. It was a travesty. So my hunt began for the perfect sheets. Of course, I search for the perfect sheet. The higher the thread count the better the sheet. Egyption cotton is also the way to go. So as I peruse the paper last week I come across Macy's home sale.

Macy's sale included my charter club sheets. They were 800 thread count egyption cotton sheets. Baby blue was the color of choice. The best part was they were on sale. The price is normally 200 dollars. I purchased them for 100 dollars. I love to buy things on sale, it is like a hunt. I track my prey on the internet then I go after the kill. I feel so satisfied to get my bargain.

A whole new year with infinite possiblilities...

I am a list maker. I make list of everything from the spices in my cupboard to the places I want to travel throughout my life. Checking things off of my master to do list keeps me going. I need to focus on the goals I have for the rest of my life. One of my goals is to try to keep up with my blog. I am totally obsessed with designer labels. I especially love shoes. I refuse to make excuses for the label loving girl I have become. My mom always loved nice things and there is nothing wrong with this. So join me as I check the items off of my life list and become the woman I am meant to be....

hot and spicy chex mix....

I have found a new love. The hot and spicy chex mix is just to die for. It is spicy so it is not for the faint of heart (or tongue). I personally like to mix it eat right before I eat my delicious cheeze cubes.
